The adjustments are applied to the entire Preview Area, not just the contents of the cropping frame. Under the default settings when ScanGear CS is first installed, Auto Tone uses data from the area encompassed by the Auto Crop function.
They are also reflected in the final scan. *Adjustments to image colors with the Color tab are immediately reflected in the preview image. It is disabled when 'Text Enhanced' is the selected Color Mode (Windows only). When the Color Mode category is set to 'Black and White', the tab name switches to Halftone. The Color tab is enabled when the Color Mode category is set to 'Color' or 'Grayscale'. This includes the brightness and contrast settings, monitor brightness adjustments (gamma), image highlight and shadow settings and balance adjustments (histogram, tone curve). This tab allows you to adjust the image brightness and color tones in extensive detail. This resets all four color areas to their defaults (Brightness/Contrast, Gamma, Histogram and Tone Curve). Preferences is accessed from the Settings tab. *The Color tab is not available when Canon ColorGear (Windows) or ColorSync (Macintosh) is selected on the Color Settings tab of the ScanGear Preferences. If not already in Advanced Mode, click on the 'Advanced Mode' button.Open ScanGear from the desired application (ex.- Toolbox, PhotoStudio, etc.).If at any time you experience undesired scan quality, it may be necessary to restore the default settings on the Color tab. The default settings will generally be the best settings for your scans.
In the Advanced Mode of ScanGear, there are many options on the Color tab that can affect the quality of your scanned images.
